Last week I had an opportunity to work on something other than just face masks.
My great-niece asked if I would make a John Wayne quilt kit. I asked for the link to the site that was selling it and saw that it was a John Wayne Quilt Kit made by The Riley Blake Fabric. I was relieved to see it was made with a panel, star blocks and borders.
Upon arrival I went through everything that was in the kit.
I love the fabrics! They are nostalgic and a western theme. The instructions are written well and have been easy to follow. The kit had an adequate amount of fabric and even some left over for a small project. If you would like to have the pattern you can find it here. If you would like to check out some of the fabrics and panels available with the John Wayne theme they are available here.
The pattern for this quilt will work well with other panels I have in my stash. I think this pattern will go well with one of my Christmas panels. (I plan to write a blog post showing how I used the pattern with one of my panels.)
I was able to use my 8″ AccuQuilt Cube Set for cutting out the stars which made the flying geese much easier to do.
At the time of this writing, I have about 21 hours into the construction. I’ve completed the quilt top and I will be moving onto quilting it. The hope was to have this completed by Mother’s Day, so it will be a basic quilting.
I appreciate my followers and thanks for stopping by to read my blog.
Blessings,
