Now that I’ve gotten through Christmas 2020, I can start to focus on new winter themed quilt patterns.
I ran several internet searches and thought I would share my 10 favorite Free Winter Themed Quilt Patterns.
So don’t let the winter blahs get you down. Here’s some winter themed quilt patterns to keep you busy and brighten your space.
First up is a very intricate pattern that is on the AQS Blog called Feathered Frost.
“Don’t Lose Your Mittens” is a Maywood Studio wall hanging pattern by Kay Beaux using Frolic in the Snow Flannel by Kris Lammers. This is such a cute and playful pattern that’s sure to brighten up the area it’s hung in.
Winter Seeds Table Topper by The Crafty Quilter Julie Cefalu is the author of The Crafty Quilter and has a wonderful post with a tutorial and pattern for this beautiful table topper.
I found this very cute snowmen block over at QuiltersCache.com by Marcia-Hohn. This would make a pretty snowman quilt. The scarves could all be scrappy. (The link provides directions on how to make the snowman.)
Pat Sloan has this “Starry Snowman Quilt Pattern” available for PDF download. This is a wonderful pattern for anytime or theme of the year.
Here is another quilt block pattern from the AQS Blog called Winter Star.
Snowflake Placemats By Patti Buhler is available on the Pfaff website. I love the idea that each placemat can be made with a different fabric in the snowflake. Great way to use up scraps or fat quarters.
And last but not least, the Snazzy Snowflake Quilt Block. Highway 10 designed this Snazzy Snowflake Quilt Block years ago as part of a sampler BOM program with area quilt shops, and now it is a free PDF on their website.
I really hope you see a pattern among this group that you like. If you make one of them, please be sure to post a picture in the comments. Also, be sure to check out my other blog posts with free quilt patterns.
Happy Sewing All!
