Becoming A Better Quilter with Bluprint

Bluprint Class “Quilt-As-You-Go” Class by Tara Rebman

Last January, I made these two totes after watching the Bluprint Class “Quilt-As-You-Go by Tara Rebman.” I enjoyed this instructor and the class so much that I chose it as one of my forever class selections that came with my subscription to Bluprint. I learned a great zipper pocket technique that looks professional as well as what metal-magnet clasps to use for closures.

When making the mostly blue tote on the left I used leather for the first time. Not sure I would have tried this if I hadn’t had the step-by-step direction of my class. I also like that I am able to go back and listen to a step several times if need be until I understand what I am suppose to be doing.

Besides learning how to make a beautiful tote last year, I became better at free motion quilting. I watched a few different videos including “Help! How Do I Quilt It? with Angela Walters.” The above quilt was a very special quilt of valor I made for a family member. Angela’s step-by-step guidance gave me the courage and ability to look at the shapes in my quilt and come up with a quilting plan. This is the first quilt that I did with so much free motion quilting and with several different patterns. It was a lot of fun and I loved my family member’s face when I presented him his quilt.

Having all their classes at my finger tips has taught me tips, tricks and walked me through projects all in the comfort of my home. I do enjoy taking classes at my local quilt shops but it really is nice to have my teacher right there with me, in my sewing she shed, when I’m attempting to make a new quilt block or learn a new stitch method.

And the classes are not the only thing I like about Bluprint.. Originally I found them because of their great patterns, quilting tools and beautiful fabric collections. I also love that Bluprint. runs specials and sales that help with building my fabric stash.

Bluprint has more than just quilting classes and supplies. You will find classes and supplies for crochet, knitting, home and garden, cake decorating and many more crafts. Check Bluprint out.

Happy sewing everyone and thanks for stopping by.

Blessings,
